TITLE: Facilities Work Study Custodial
SUPERVISED BY: Assistant Director of Facilities Building Manager
DEPARTMENT: Facilities
GRADE: Work Study
STATUS: Exempt
FUNCTION OF THE JOB: Assist Facilities staff with general custodial work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Empty recycle (paper/aluminum/plastic) bins throughout the college 2.Sort recycled paper daily 3.Compact cardboard daily - bale cardboard as needed 4.Maintain/clean recycle area 5.Assist in mopping and scrubbing basement, classrooms, hallways 6.Clean/vacuum stairwells 7.Dust all edges and heaters 8.Remove fingerprints from entrance doors 9.Wash windows 10.Remove spider webs from entry ways 11.Clean/dust handrails, wrought iron, tabletops 12.Assist in setups/teardowns of events 13.Clean/disinfect trash cans and wastebaskets 14.Other duties as reasonably assigned by Facilities staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.Must display professionalism and confidentiality in all matters 2.Must be on time and reliable 3.Must be able to operate basic custodial equipment 4.Must be able to provide and understand verbal/visual orders from supervisors.
PERSONAL INTERACTION: Daily contact with College personnel, faculty, students, and the general public in the routine performance of duties and departmental services.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
REQUIREMENTS: Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student's course of study. Students participating in the Federal Work Study Program are paid minimum wage and can work up to 20 hours per week. The student is not guaranteed a set number of hours per week. In order to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program the student must: ~ be enrolled half-time (or greater) at the College (half-time is 6cr for fall/spring and 3cr for summer), ~ be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program, ~ be in good academic standing; and ~ must have eligibility (financial need) as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
