Trade Compliance Manager

Our client, a leading global player in the aerospace sector, is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to lead and support its trade compliance function across operations in the U.S., Romania, and Belgium. This is a critical role ensuring the organization remains fully compliant with U.S. and international trade, export, and government contracting regulations while fostering a strong culture of integrity and accountability.

Key Responsibilities
Drive the implementation and ongoing management of a comprehensive trade compliance program in line with U.S. and international regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC).
Act as a subject matter expert for export control, product classification, licensing, and regulatory matters.
Prepare and submit export license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), and re-export/retransfer authorizations.
Partner with engineering, procurement, sales, and program teams to ensure alignment with trade and government contracting requirements (FAR/DFARS).
Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and investigations to proactively mitigate risks.
Deliver trade compliance training to raise awareness across all levels of the organization.
Monitor regulatory developments and update internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
Collaborate with U.S. government agencies (DOC, DDTC, DCAA/DCMA) as needed.
Support cybersecurity and government contracting standards, including CMMC compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor???s degree in International Business, Law, or related field (advanced compliance certifications such as CUSECO or ITAR Professional a plus).
5???8 years of progressive experience in trade compliance roles within multinational organizations; aerospace/defense/high-tech industry background strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and FAR/DFARS compliance.
Experience managing export licenses, product classifications (ECCN, USML), and regulatory communications.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on mindset.
Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex regulations into clear, practical guidance.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Person status required in compliance with export control regulations.
Pay Details:
$120,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
