Crown Plastics is the world leader in the manufacturing of thin gauge UHMW polyethylene, and is currently looking for a Quality Inspector to join its growing team.
The Quality Inspector ensures Crown Plastics products, processes and suppliers are in line with the company's quality standards.
Typical hours are first shift, 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
Minimum Qualifications :
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings. Familiarity with measuring scales, layout scales, calipers, micrometers, and precision rulers. Understanding of how to inspect a part by measuring it against a blueprint. Experience with first article dimensional inspection and approvals, and 2D drawings. Ability to convert between inches and millimeters for measuring units. Proficiency in surface plate layout using an XY coordinate system for part inspection. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Ability to determine all units of measure surface plan plate layouts and calculations. Basic math skills are required. Gauge calibration skills would be ideal but can be trained. Familiarity with an ISO 9001 or AS9001 environment a plus Responsibilities :
Evaluates new products and processes within the context of the quality management system to determine their suitability. Reviews blueprints for ordered products, coordinates with sales and customers to ensure accuracy of orders relating to quality requirements. Assists in the introduction of new products and equipment into the production process; reviews equipment specifications for the inspection and testing processes and prepares and inspects new equipment. Schedules and conducts internal audits; reviews instructions and procedures and verifies accuracy. Works with process leaders to find the root cause of non-conformance, develops corrective action plans and follows-up to ensure correction, documents all steps. Receives returned products, analyzes for errors/defects, takes corrective action, documents steps taken and follows up with customers. Generates quality reports based on returns, complaints, scrap, etc., and presents the previous months data at the monthly quality meeting. Assists in developing and employing a product roadmap by following ISO standards to provide customers with the products they need and desire. What We Offer :
