General Description
This position provides administrative support for multiple Department of Corrections programs in the coordination and support of health services for residents while maintaining compliance with policies established by contracting agencies
Job Requirements (Performs other work related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor)
Process all medical and medication request forms for healthcare services to be rendered. Coordinate healthcare appointments for residents. Provide an orientation to new residents on the healthcare service procedures. Order refills, distribute and store medication for residents. Liaison to Pharmacorr and assessment centers for transferring new residents and their medication to Kintock. Liaison with Northern State Prison for health services. Creates and maintain log sheets for all medication arriving to the facility. Request healthcare records for residents. Coordinate lab appointments and follow-up on results. Order and maintain inventory for medical supplies. Maintain statistics for the completion of monthly reports Update medical files for each resident. Operating all standard office machine & computer software, including Windows '97; Participating in all mandated staff development sessions; Ensuring that all aspects of the department are operated in accordance with contract requirements and Company standards in pursuit of "Excellence in Community Corrections," and Performing other duties as designed by the Director and/or other program staff. Qualifications/Skill Requirements Advanced office training, at least three years of satisfactory performance in a paid administrative support position, the successful candidate will have strong computer and organizational skills, excellent oral/written communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining organization. Ability to obtain/maintain CPR/First Aide certification. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in health services a plus.
Knowledge: Modern office principles & protocol; Modern office equipment including personal computer; Word Processing software, including Windows '97 & Excel; and Business communications. Abilities:
Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization; Project a professional image appropriate for the position and the Company; Maintain confidentiality; Develop and maintain filing systems; Manage time and prioritize activities to meet the responsibilities and duties of this position; Give attention to detail and follow-through; Establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, contracting agencies and other vendors; Be flexible to meet unexpected job related schedules; Meet the clearance requirements of contracting agency; and Execute all duties in accordance with this position description
Education Requirements
This position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent). An associate's degree in business is preferred.
