As a School Nurse in Wilmington, you'll ensure the well-being of boarding students by providing hands-on care, administering medications, and guiding wellness education. This is a role where quick assessments and a calm presence make a real difference in students' daily lives.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver routine and emergency nursing care for adolescents Perform physical and psycho-social assessments to guide interventions Administer prescription and over-the-counter medications safely Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and local hospitals as needed Support wellness through first aid, health education, and prevention Maintain accurate, confidential health records and documentation Ensure compliance with regulatory and school health policies Communicate with professionalism and sensitivity to students, families, and staff Prioritize effectively in high-pressure situations Collaborate with health professionals and staff to promote safety and support Utilize technology skills for EHR and communications Minimum Requirements
Current Compact RN License or RN license in DE (or eligibility through NJ Compact) At least 3 years of nursing experience (adolescent care, family medicine, school nursing, emergency, or critical care) Strong clinical assessment and communication skills Independent judgment and discretion Successful state background checks Previous school or residential nursing experience preferred
