Expertise and Functions

  • Serve as the main HR contact at the location for union and non-union employees, supervisors, and union representatives
  • Support labor relations activities including collective bargaining agreement (CBA) understanding, contract interpretation, and grievance management
  • Provide employee relations guidance on performance management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and retention strategies for non-union employees in line with company policies and standards
  • Partner with the corporate talent acquisition team to support recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding of selected professionals
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, aerospace defense industry regulations (e.g., ITAR, DFARS), CBA parameters and corporate HR policies
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data to meet company standards and audit requirements
  • Facilitate clear communication channels between employees, management, union representatives, and corporate HR to support a collaborative and engaged workforce
  • Assist with benefits administration, compensation, leave management, and employee wellness programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Associate’s Degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Degrees are waiver eligible with experience in addition to the education and experience requirements listed

Experience

  • 4+ years of HR experience, including experience in a unionized and regulated environment such as aerospace, defense, or manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of labor relations, union contracts, and grievance procedures
  • Familiarity with aerospace/defense compliance standards (e.g., ITAR, DFARS) and government contracting employment regulations
  • Experience supporting talent acquisition processes, including sourcing, shepherding the interview process, and onboarding technical professionals
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive personnel data with discretion
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Security

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and use of computer screens
  • Frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements using a keyboard, mouse, and handwriting
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
