Overview
Position Title: Human Resources Specialist
Shift: First Shift
Rate of Pay: $27.50/Hr
Responsibilities
- Maintain health and wellness fund and benefits for Union employees
- Maintain employee personnel and medical files
- Track and maintain temporary employee’s time, attendance and payroll
- Coordinate engagement activities for the site (internal and external)
- Coordinate community involvement events
- Coordinate and is point of contact for health and wellness activities for the site
- Generate and distribute company and site communications
- Maintain supply ordering for the site
- Meeting management
- Run reports and data requests at various frequencies
- Coordinate and maintain job bid process for union and non-union hourly positions
- Maintain data accuracy within Workday
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Assist in People Committee planning, execution, and implementation- including providing essential documentation required for KHMS
- Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) standards as outlined in the plant’s QRMP accountability document, including the implementation, improvement and ongoing maintenance
- Manage and Maintain Uniforms Ordering with Employees and Vendor
- Ownership of Plant Recognition Strategies Including Employee of the Month/Daily Recognition
- Maintain Purchase Orders for Various Vendors Supporting HR Initiatives
- Coordinate New Hire Packets and 90 Day Experience
- All other duties and tasks as required
Non Essential Responsibilities
- Attend specified QCDSM Meetings
- Ensure bulletin board notifications are posted and removed in a timely manner
- Accurate and timely processing of unemployment and layoff notices
- Supports generalists with accurate and timely processing of employment status changes (i.e. terminations, job moves, rate changes)
- Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
- Supports Company Store coordination
- Assist and train employees with benefit enrollment and HR online
- Develop and maintain various HR tracking logs (i.e. retirements, celebrations, promotions)
- Maintain Employee store and HR Lounge area products and supplies
- Support corporate and site initiatives
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business, or other related or equivalent experience field or equivalent work experience, with Human Resources or office administration is preferred. High-school diploma, or equivalent.
- Proven team player with strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills. Able to work cooperatively with others and demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Self-starter with strong time-management skills. Able to work independently and drive change.
- Excellent communication, leadership, writing and organizational skills, including an ability to present and facilitate meetings.
- Proven ability to anticipate demand, manage multiple tasks/projects, and meet tight deadlines
- Quantitative analysis skills a plus.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets is required. (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word or similar software packages).
- Proficient in time management techniques. Must be willing to travel to off-site meetings and training sessions.
