The role of a phlebotomist involves drawing patients' blood and performing specimen processing within a patient service center setting. This position is crucial for the collection and receipt of biological specimens, ensuring their proper entry into the company's computer system, and preparing samples for analytical testing. Additionally, you will be responsible for the distribution of specimens to the appropriate analytical areas, handling both pre and post aspects of analytical testing. You will also perform specified analytical testing as assigned, adhering strictly to the Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

Draw blood from patients for analysis and testing.

Process and prepare specimens for analytical testing.

Enter specimen information accurately into the company's computer system.

Distribute specimens to appropriate analytical areas.

Perform specified analytical testing as assigned.

Adhere to the guidelines of the Code of Conduct.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in blood draw techniques.

Experience in specimen collection and processing.

Knowledge of laboratory and phlebotomy procedures.

Strong patient care skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

1-3 years of prior phlebotomy experience preferred.

Must be comfortable working in a team environment.

GED or High School Diploma required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a patient service center, working alongside two or more other phlebotomists. The new PSC is opening soon at Ave and McDowell Rd in Avondale, AZ. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, but availability from 6 AM to 5 PM is preferred. The company provides ample opportunities for growth, including a career ladder for promotion after six months, with a 4% pay increase for advancement to Phlebotomy Technician 2. The organization values internal promotion for leadership roles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avondale, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.36/hr.
