Job Description
Assist in preparing cost estimates for
commercial interiors and corporate fit-out projects , including tenant improvements, office buildouts, and specialized spaces such as healthcare, lab, and life sciences environments. Perform accurate
quantity takeoffs
for architectural finishes, millwork, flooring, ceilings, glazing, partitions, and other interior scopes using
OnScreen Takeoff
or similar software to ensure full and accurate scope coverage. Review architectural drawings, specifications, and RFIs to ensure consistency across documents, flag risks, and clarify scope gaps-especially in complex or fast-paced interior build-outs. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, especially those specializing in interior finish trades (e.g., drywall, ceilings, flooring, millwork, glazing), to solicit and track bids, ensuring complete and competitive pricing coverage. Analyze and level subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with the full project scope, quality standards, and target budgets. Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing for interiors-related scopes to support future benchmarking, budgeting, and estimating efficiency. Track and incorporate plan revisions, addenda, and other design changes into ongoing estimates to ensure accuracy throughout the preconstruction process. Support
value engineering efforts , identifying cost-effective alternatives for materials and systems while maintaining design intent and functionality. Use
Procore
(or similar construction management software) to manage documents, track estimates, and ensure seamless transitions between preconstruction and project delivery teams. Meet internal estimating schedules and bid deadlines; communicate proactively about delays, information gaps, or other risks that could affect estimate delivery. Support senior estimators and project leaders by managing the administrative and technical estimating tasks-freeing up leadership to focus on strategy, client engagement, and larger project efforts. Demonstrate attention to detail, consistency, and quality-ensuring all estimate deliverables are professional, complete, and ready for presentation or submission. The Successful Applicant
Have
2-3 years of estimating experience
with a
general contractor (GC) , ideally in commercial construction. Be
proficient in Procore
and familiar (ideally experienced) with
On-Screen Takeoff. Be comfortable
handling a high volume of estimates , bid packages, and subcontractor coordination. Be
detail-oriented , organized, and process-driven - able to "grind" and
push paper
effectively and efficiently. Have the
hustle and work ethic
to keep up with fast-paced demands and shifting priorities. Be a
self-starter
who can operate with minimal oversight - someone who can
take tasks off leadership's plate
immediately and run with them. Be eager to
take ownership of the estimating process , from takeoff to bid submission. Be a strong communicator, able to follow up with subcontractors, track scope coverage, and ensure deadlines are met. Be a
team player
who understands that their work helps free up leadership to focus on higher-level strategic efforts. What's on Offer
