The Medical Assistant at Main Medical - 1333 Meridian Ave., 1 plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical services. This position involves performing both administrative and clinical tasks to facilitate efficient patient care and enhance the overall patient experience. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals. Additionally, this role requires managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and coordinating communication between patients and medical staff. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not mandatory. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. CPR and First Aid certification. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population. Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs and medical histories. Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures. Manage patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits as needed. Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, processing insurance information, and handling patient check-in and check-out. Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment. Communicate effectively with patients to provide instructions and answer basic health-related questions.
