Job Description Job Title: RN - PACU Pre-Operative and Post Operative (36-Hour Night Position)
Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a 36-hour night position in a fast-paced Pre-Operative and Post Operative area. The RN will support the main bram and MFT 1, working with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients before and after surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities: - Deliver high-quality nursing care for patients in the Pre-Operative and Post Operative settings, ensuring safety and comfort. - Monitor patients undergoing Phase 1 care with a patient ratio of 2:1, maintaining vigilance and quick response to any changes in conditions. - Administer cardiac drips, manage IVs, and perform tele monitoring, as well as pre and post-procedure care for TEE, CV, and CATH/EP OR procedures. - Float among Bramhall PACU, IMC, and ICU as needed, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in care. - Collaborate with surgical teams and contribute to effective communication among team members and patients. - Participate in weekend on-call requirements every other weekend to ensure proper staffing and patient care continuity.
Requirements: - Minimum of 3 years of recent PACU experience with trauma Level 1 experience preferred. - Strong clinical skills, including the ability to read tele strips and manage groin complications or EKGs. - Experience with Cath/EP/TEE procedures, robotic TAVRS, and Pediatric CATHs is a plus. - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, with online education modules and unit orientation based on employee needs. - Must possess a positive, collaborative attitude and strong communication skills to promote teamwork within the unit.
Unit Information: - 40 pre-post beds with 9 overnight bays, including 23-hour short stay. - Equipment: IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidurals, arterial lines, and tele monitoring. - EMR: Epic.
Work Schedule: - Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM - Weekend hours include Saturday day shifts scheduled every other weekend, with a rotational call requirement.
