Overview
The IT Specialist ensures the reliable operation of IT systems and infrastructure within the RSAF ELT facilities. This includes providing responsive Tier 1 Help Desk support, maintaining hardware and software systems, ensuring stable connectivity, and supporting instructional and administrative activities. By delivering effective IT solutions, the IT Specialist plays a critical role in the successful execution of RSAF ELT objectives. This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 Help Desk IT support for all ELT activities conducted in designated facilities, including Building 632, Building 633 (if occupied), Building 690 (1st and 2nd floors), and Building 558 (Learning Resource Center and Contractor Administrative Offices).
- Troubleshoot and maintain small computer hardware and software systems for optimal performance and continuity of operations.
- Deliver reliable wired and wireless internet support to meet program needs for both instructional and administrative purposes.
- Manage cable television systems used for instructional and administrative purposes in the designated facilities.
- Provide direct IT support to RSAF ELT Curriculum Liaison Officers (CLOs) and Military Training Liaisons (MTLs).
- Adapt IT support to meet changing needs as documented in task orders when facilities or program requirements evolve.
- Administer the listening portion of the ALCPT (American Course Language Test) monthly for current students as well as administering an entry-level listening test for new students.
- Address internet and billing issues that may arise with the internet service provider.
- Monitor and maintain Xerox copiers and ensure replacement items (toner, drums, transfer belts) are shipped and delivered in a timely manner.
- Assist in purchasing IT equipment and accessories.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess a bachelor’s degree.
- At least two (2) years of experience in providing Tier 1 Help Desk support and performing small computer hardware/software maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Hold a 8570.01 IAT Level 2 certification Security ++
- Ability to obtain CompTIA Sec+ certification.
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working Conditions
- Professional office environment.
- On-site at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods.
