Platform Services Manager About Your Role
As a Senior Enterprise API Platform Engineer, you will design, build, secure, and operate our enterprise API platforms using
Google Apigee
and
Azure API Management . Youll help shape the next-gen API ecosystem by establishing governance, standards, and best practices for performance, security, and scalability. You will partner closely with architects, product, and business stakeholders to enable consistent, high-quality API experiences across the organization. What We Are Looking For
Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years
in API platforms or middleware integration across internal/external business systems. 3+ years
hands-on with
Google Apigee
and
Azure API Management
(configuration, administration, policies, proxies, gateways). Strong understanding of
RESTful APIs ,
OpenAPI/Swagger , and non-REST/event-based patterns ( SOAP, Pub/Sub, etc. ). Deep knowledge of
API security :
OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys , mutual TLS, and related best practices. Proficiency troubleshooting platform issues and performance bottlenecks using
logs, metrics, and platform APIs . Experience managing
API specifications and versioning
(e.g.,
SwaggerHub ) and driving reusable, scalable designs. Experience enabling developers through
API Developer Portals
(onboarding, documentation, self-service). Participation in
Agile
ceremonies, backlog refinement, and translating business requirements into user stories. Need to be located in Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Chile or Colombia. Nice to Have: Exposure to
API monetization ,
rate limiting , and
traffic management
at scale. Familiarity with
microservices
and
containerized environments
(Docker/Kubernetes). Hands-on with
automated API functional and performance testing . Experience with
CI/CD
for APIs (e.g.,
Jenkins ,
GitHub Actions ) and automated deployments. Operational monitoring with tools like
Datadog ,
Azure Log Analytics , and
Grafana . What You Will Do
Design, implement, and maintain
robust API proxies/gateways
on
Apigee
and
Azure API Management . Build and enforce
API governance : standards, lifecycle management, versioning, and reusability. Develop
policies
(security, traffic, mediation) and
transformation logic ; automate platform tasks. Troubleshoot
routing, security, and connectivity issues across multiple environments. Support internal/external consumers via
Developer Portals
for smooth, self-service onboarding. Monitor live API traffic , analyze logs/metrics, detect anomalies, and tune performance. Collaborate with
Technical Architects, Product Owners, and Business Analysts
to align platform capabilities with business goals. Soft Skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams. Ownership mindset, analytical problem-solving, and a bias for scalable, secure solutions.
