POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator is responsible for coordination of Wise & Healthy Aging's Club and Diner programs (at 4th Street and Reed Park), specifically the congregate meals program. Coordinator provides support by assisting as a back-up for direct service delivery in the membership programs and lifelong learning (Club).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide staff support to the Congregate Meal Program and assist in implementing social and recreational activities at the service delivery sites (4th Street and Reed Park) Register program participants. Conduct daily sign-in and maintains attendance records. Responsible for the collection of meal donations and maintaining accurate records of monies received on prescribed agency forms. Deliver donations to the assigned administrative office daily. Evaluates food quality and quantity, informing the manager of any issues in a timely manner. Deliver meal service while following food safety and good hygiene procedures for serving food as outlined in County regulations. Participate in and supervise volunteers in the clean-up of assigned nutrition site before, during and after meals are served. Follow proper sanitation procedures. Maintain bulletin boards, information areas and registration tables with current and accurate information that is organized and presentable. Notify appropriate agency staff of outdated and /or needed materials in a timely manner. Assist with training volunteers, assigning work, and coordinating work activities of volunteer staff. Follow all applicable policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations. Identifies emergency situations, acts, and notifies appropriate personnel. Responsible for creating a welcoming environment for members, which includes talking with members, orienting them to the Club and promoting programs. Other administrative tasks as assigned. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Answers Phones; front desk support Assist with food pick-ups, deliveries Outreach via phone and in-person to increase membership and member participation Assists with room set up and preparation Other duties as directed to accomplish program goals POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Minimum high school diploma Requirements
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; bilingual speaker preferred A self-starter, patient, and exhibits care and compassion Good public relations and telephone skills A valid California Driver's License and proof of auto insurance is required. Satisfactory completion of post-offer background checks and pre-employment medical and physical as required. CONTRAINTS
This position is funded in part by the City of Santa Monica. Program funding is allocated on a fiscal year basis, July 1st through June 30th each year. Termination of all or part of these funds at any time during the funding period may affect the organization's continued ability to fund this position. WORK ENVIORNMENT
This position is co-located at the corporate office of Wise & Healthy Aging located in Santa Monica, California (2 locations: 4th Street and Reed Park) and the main office of Club in Baldwin Hills.
Requires standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending and reaching to move office furniture. Requires sitting at desk and using a computer keyboard. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
