The Engineering and Industrial Professions Department at the University of North Alabama (http://www.una.edu/eip/) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level to be the lead for the Chemical Engineering concentration (one of five concentrations in the Bachelor of Engineering program) and related curricula and laboratories. This position will begin in Fall 2026. Review of applications will begin on November 3, 2025, and will continue until the position is filled.

The successful candidate will be expected to: Develop engineering curricula related to (but not limited to) Chemical Engineering; Maintain and manage laboratories associated with the curricula; Teach program-related coursework; Recruit, advise, and mentor students; Participate in scholarly activity; Participate in industry outreach; Be involved in service to the university, college, department, and profession; Support the department's current ABET-accreditation processes; and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, administration, and industry in written form, verbally, and inter-personally. Experience and skills working with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders; Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Desire to teach and/or learn to teach a varied and evolving curriculum; Ability to plan and perform hands-on development of laboratory equipment and exercises. Minimum Qualifications

A PhD in chemical engineering or an engineering field closely associated with chemical engineering is required; the engineering PhD must be from an institution that currently offers an EAC-ABET accredited bachelor's degree in the same major as the PhD; Professional licensure as a PE in at least one US state is preferred; Relevant professional certifications (CMfgE, SixSigma, CPEM, CCPSf, etc.) is preferred; and industry experience is strongly preferred. Retirement Plans
