Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Mental Health, the Program Manager provides professional, compassionate, and effective leadership for Alcott's Los Angeles Unarmed Model of Crisis Response program. This 24/7 pilot program delivers unarmed crisis response through a centralized dispatch system, offering immediate support to individuals in crisis. The Program Manager is responsible for supervising staff, overseeing daily program operations, ensuring compliance with contractual and quality standards, and fostering collaboration with community partners. The Program Manager is expected to model professionalism, patience, and consistency while guiding staff to provide safe, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented services.
Salary Range:
$75,000 - $82,400 annually, DOE
Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight and Leadership • Provide daily coordination of program operations and crisis response activities. • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff. • Ensure staff receive coaching on safety planning, risk assessment, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and documentation. • Maintain compliance with agency, funder, and contract requirements. • Monitor program outcomes, reporting, and service delivery quality.
Crisis Response and Client Services • Support staff in providing crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning. • Respond directly to crises in the field as needed. • Ensure staff deliver trauma-informed and culturally responsive services. • Promote recovery-oriented care and positive client engagement.
Collaboration and Community Engagement • Build and maintain partnerships with law enforcement, hospitals, and community agencies. • Represent Alcott at meetings, coalitions, and community events. • Coordinate community outreach to increase awareness of crisis response services.
Documentation and Compliance • Oversee timely and accurate completion of staff documentation. • Support quality assurance reviews and program audits. • Ensure adherence to LAC-DMH, Medi-Cal, and agency standards.
Other Duties • Provide after-hours or weekend oversight as needed. • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Mental Health.
Qualifications • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related mental health field (preferred). • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or program management experience (preferred). • Strong organizational, communication, and crisis management skills. • Experience in crisis response, community mental health, or correctional re-entry programs is helpful. • Familiarity with harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation practices. • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. • Proof of valid California Driver's License, clean driving record, and insurability under agency policy. • Live Scan background check required. • COVID-19 vaccination and at least one (1) booster required (medical or religious exemptions must be documented upon hire).
Work Schedule & Setting • Full-time, 40 hours per week • Primarily Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with after-hours oversight as needed • Based in Culver City, CA with field-based responsibilities
