Job Title: Design Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a talented Design Engineer who will play a crucial role in the development and improvement of engineering models. This position requires designing equipment using CAD software, developing prototypes, and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure feasible designs. The role is pivotal in ensuring product safety, performance, and efficiency, while also managing cost estimates for designs.
Responsibilities
Study plans for upcoming engineering models and develop strategies for improvements.
Design equipment using CAD and consult with engineering and manufacturing teams for feasibility.
Develop and build prototypes, running tests to measure functionality.
Record, evaluate, and report testing data, making necessary design alterations.
Consult with fabrication teams during product manufacturing, advising on design specifications.
Calculate cost estimates for final product designs, including labor, material, delivery, and overhead.
Attend team meetings to provide progress reports and strategize on future steps.
Analyze and interpret data to provide technical advice.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
Experience in machine design.
Knowledge of control systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience/knowledge of 3D CAD.
Knowledge of machine logic programming is a plus.
Work Environment
Join a team working cross-functionally with the design engineering group and the manufacturing floor. This role is primarily onsite, Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. The position involves 70% design work at the desk and 30% on the manufacturing floor. Daily communication with various groups within the organization, including engineers and operators, is expected. Our company is expanding and provides career development opportunities, operating from a brand-new facility in Allendale, NJ.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
