SUMMARY:
Operate the Bag-N-Box/Rotary filler safely and efficiently. The equipment responsibilities include the Filler, Caser, Top Sealer, Coders, and all related conveyors. Every unit released by operator for sale must be of perfect quality. No Leakers, spout on properly, code on bag, box formed properly, top of box sealed properly, code on box correct for item in box and legible for all to read.
Work Shift:
Tuesday-Saturday, 10pm-6:30am, with willingness to work overtime, extra days, and holidays
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Knows the purpose and proper operation of all safety switches, interlocks and safety devices of the rotary filler. Knows and follows SOP for C.I.P. cleaning of filler. Familiar with the operation and cleaning of all parts, lines related to filler, caser, and top sealer. Proficient at interpreting the run schedule and planning effective work. Works closely with supervision to ensure smooth operations, brings issues to management freely. Knows and follows SOP for sterilizing filler. Able to consistently and safely operate filler, caser, top sealer, and coder at an expected rate of efficiency. Responsible to communicate breakdowns or other problems to the Supervisor or the person in charge in a timely manner and offers suggestions to repair while continuing to operate efficiently. Responsible to speak up for the good of the company. Must help to resolve problems when they arise and not magnify the problem. Responsible to work harmoniously with other departments and management. Confers with supervision to maintain cost effective labor utilization while maintaining efficient receiving operations. Offers improvement suggestions and solutions to problems. Must strive to maintain a high level of productivity while constantly looking for ways to raise the efficiency of the department. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/ or management. All employees are expected to support the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program by following food safety and quality procedures, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness, and reporting any concerns. Team members must understand their role in the SQF System, complete required training, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement to ensure safe, high-quality products. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum high school diploma with higher education or certification preferred. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be willing and able to work overtime when needed. Must proactively direct value-added work under slack conditions. COMPETENCIES:
