Position Summary: The Regional Admissions Recruiter is responsible for recruiting and admitting students from Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Based in the region, the recruiter travels to build relationships with schools and organizations, develop a pipeline of prospective students, and represent Humboldt at events. The role includes sharing information about the university, conducting admissions presentations and counseling, evaluating transcripts, and supporting recruitment programs targeting specific populations. The recruiter also manages daily admissions tasks remotely and may travel to other regions and the main campus. Key Responsibilities

45% - Student Recruitment & Outreach In-field representation at school visits and college fairs, presentations, panels, and trade-style events using branded materials. Direct outreach to prospective students, applicants, and influencers (e.g., guidance counselors) via phone, email, SMS, and handwritten notes. 15% - Admissions Events Plan, organize, and participate in recruitment events such as in-market events, road shows, individual meetings, and on-campus programs. Includes event setup, execution, and follow-up, with occasional evenings and weekends. 10% - Applicant Support & Counseling Assist students and families with admissions inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions. Requires reliable internet access and familiarity with admissions systems; work may occur evenings and weekends. 15% - Applicant Review & Evaluation Review and evaluate applications and academic transcripts according to CSU and Humboldt-specific admissions criteria with accuracy and timeliness. 10% - Reporting & Training Track metrics, admissions reporting, business reviews, and participate in professional development/training sessions. 5% - Other Duties as Assigned Support additional programs or special projects as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, and activities of the program to which assigned. General knowledge of organizational and program management methods and problems. Knowledge of research and interview techniques; understanding of individual and group behavior; ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations. Ability to use initiative to plan work and implement improvements; collect and analyze data and present findings verbally or in writing. Ability to advise students individually and in groups; respect diverse value systems and work accordingly. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with faculty, CSU administrators, student organizations, and community partners; quick to learn campus operations. Ability to work as part of a team and to make decisions with implications for other program areas. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet, and databases; openness to learning new software. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a job-related field; Master’s degree preferred. Two years of relevant professional experience in market management, sales, and/or a student services program or related field. A Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience. Valid CA class C Driver’s License. Preferred Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional demeanor and strong organizational abilities. Ability to build strong, lasting relationships with prospective students, families, school staff, and community partners. Ability to explain CSU admissions and college affordability clearly; culturally sensitive with experience working with diverse populations. Ability to interact respectfully with students, parents, and school staff in various settings; quick to learn Humboldt programs.
