Green Circle Growers was founded in 1968 by John van Wingerden. With just a few acres, Green Circle Growers began selling to other companies like variety stores, lumber yards, hardware stores, and grocery stores. Today, Green Circle Growers is still owned and operated by the van Wingerden family and has grown to over 170 acres of indoor growing space. Our state-of-the-art greenhouses offer many different environments to keep up with the demanding mix of products that today's market expects. We now provide plants to regional and national stores across the United States and Canada. We are able to market and offer broad products to mass merchants, as well as to growers. The retail market expects the full line of annuals in flats, containers, and baskets. The grower line produces pre-finished containers, plugs, and liners.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Process Lead engages in the planning and monitoring of manufacturing processes. This role develops and implements improved processes through data tracking analysis to ensure production efficiency and quality. The Process Lead will assist in determining methods or actions to correct any malfunctions by testing and troubleshooting the equipment. The Process Lead will need to effectively communicate daily tasks and feedback to a team of technicians.
JOB DUTIES: Assist in the design, construction, testing, and troubleshooting of new equipment installations and perform operational tests to ensure optimum equipment function Create and assist in training technicians and implementing new procedures as production evolves Assist in the operation of machinery necessary to complete assigned tasks Facilitate equipment inspections and maintenance daily to ensure production quality Adhere and promote safety policies and procedures in equipment operation Assess, set up, and monitor quality outputs against standards to adjust or reset the equipment before and after each production shift Ensure the changeover of machinery according to a production schedule Create and maintain activity logs to report to management Maintain automation materials All other duties as assigned Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Two-Year Electrical Degree or Technical Certificate with 1+ years of relevant experience Knowledge of PLC ladder logic, VSDs, and VFDs as well as basic mechanical ability required Ability to work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting Thorough knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment utilized Ability to read and interpret documents, work orders, and job documents Ability to learn new proprietary software and machine interfaces independently as well as a basic understanding of Microsoft Office products Ability to understand and follow oral instructions Establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of employment Strong verbal and/or written communication skills Maintains a strong sense of timeliness and dependability in daily responsibilities PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS:
Plant/Production facility, occasionally outside, or in-store; Possible extreme heat/cold dependent on season Continuously requires the ability to follow verbal and/or written direction Frequently requires walking, lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling (up to 200lbs), bending, and crouching Occasionally requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, climbing, and handling May require the ability to operate machinery, drive vehicles (truck, car, van, tug, forklift), or use equipment such as hand tools, computers, or general business equipment CDL license or tug/forklift certification may be required
