Job Goal: To assist the principal in the coordination and evaluation of instructional services and instructional personnel and support staff within the school; serve as a resource person for the administration, faculty and parents; administer student management policies, assist the principal in the administrative management of the building - including staff, students, programs physical facilities and community involvement. Performance Responsibilities: 1.Serves as a key member of the building leadership team. 2.Promotes and enforces the philosophy and policies of the Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District and the vision of the Southwick Regional School. 3.Responsible for the overall administration of the building in the absence of the principal. 4.Supervises student behavior and welfare. 5.Confers with teachers, counselors, support personnel, students and parents on matters of student behavior, welfare, attendance, and special needs. 6.Facilitates necessary conferences between parents and teachers with regard to student behavior. 7.Administers attendance policies and regulations daily and oversees student attendance record keeping by faculty. 8.Maintains contemporary knowledge of new programs and techniques through active association with other school systems, conferences, visitations and research. 9.Supervises and assists substitute teachers. 10.Assists principal in development, implementation, and evaluation of school policies with respect to students and staff. 11.Assists in the preparation of necessary records, reports and budgets. 12.Attends necessary meetings, conferences, or workshops as directed by the superintendent or principal. 13.Assists with the recruitment and screening of prospective teachers. 14.Visits classes regularly to evaluate teaching personnel and conducts conferences with teachers following visits to improve program delivery and individual teacher performance. 15.Promotes and assists staff to make maximum use of facilities, resources, and materials both within the school and member communities. 16.Chairs and/or serves on school and district committees as requested by the principal or superintendent. 17.All other duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent.
