Trade Compliance Specialist
Belong to a team where taking initiative, being adaptive, and inquisitive are valued. The Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing our global trade compliance program. They are responsible for ensuring that all import and export activities comply with applicable international trade laws and regulations. The individual will have a strong background in trade compliance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work cross functionally. Experience with duty drawback programs, along with strong analytical and problem solving skills, is required. Core Responsibilities: Product Classification & Valuation Determine HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification of components, raw materials, kits, and finished goods. Lead classification and origin reviews for new and existing products; ensure proper valuation with internal teams. Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance Monitor and interpret changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and trade programs (e.g., Section 301, FTAs) and advise business on necessary actions. Documentation & Filing Prepare and submit required import/export filings, drawback claims and post-entry adjustments (e.g., Reconciliation, PSCs, Protest). Ensure timely filing of reconciliation entries and responses to customs inquiries. Support Duty Drawback Program and recovery efforts. Audits & Enforcement Readiness Conduct audits, respond to government inquiries, and maintain thorough records. Develop and track corrective actions. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years' experience and strong knowledge of trade compliance, customs regulations, and international trade agreements. US Customs Broker License is a plus. Strong understanding of US Import/Export compliance regulations. Covering, but not limited to, country of origin, preferential trade agreements, HTS classifications, valuation, duty drawback and other trade program eligibility. Experience managing a comprehensive trade compliance program. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Direct experience with import/export process Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, develop recommendations, and execute on recommendations.
