Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership for the research mission of the College of Nursing and UAMS. Mentor faculty in the development and execution of research programs and enhance mentorship skills among senior research faculty. Work collaboratively with faculty and administration to create a clear vision and strategic plan for research initiatives. Oversee the college’s pre-and post-award grants support services while managing research support staff. Coordinate the college’s Intramural Grants Program. Offer guidance on institutional research requirements in partnership with the office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation. Participate in UAMS committees, task forces, and councils related to the institution’s research mission. Lead the recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of research faculty while advising the dean on key decisions. Direct the Nursing PhD Program and coordinate quarterly research meetings, seminars, and workshops. Maintain an active research program with extramural funding as either a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator. Engage in teaching and scholarly activities suitable for faculty rank. Lead projects and initiatives as requested by the dean of the College of Nursing.
