Elementary School Counselor/Licensed School Social Worker Position Overview The successful candidate will be an individual who firmly believes:

All students can and will learn, and that their learning can be directly influenced by focusing on factors over which we have control; In the need to work interdependently with teachers, school, and district leaders throughout the system, aligning the work of adults around improving student learning by meeting the needs, interests, and aspirations of students; In the need to work in partnership with staff to continuously improve practices to enhance student and family engagement, creating the conditions for equity, excellence and student success; and In meeting students' academic, social, and emotional needs and aspirations so that each student feels valued and has a sense of belonging, leading to academic success Primary Responsibilities Deliver individual and small-group counseling to address academic, emotional, social, and behavioral concerns. Conduct classroom lessons and school-wide initiatives promoting social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and positive behavioral skills. Analyze and use student data (academic, attendance, behavioral) to identify needs and tailor counseling interventions. Serve as a liaison between students, families, school staff, and community agencies-including social services and special education. Participate in crisis intervention, support networks, and referrals for students in need. Collaborate in school teams (e.g., SST, 504, IEP), consult with educators, and support transitions (e.g., to middle school). Maintain confidentiality and act ethically while supporting students' well-being. Engage in professional development and align counseling efforts with the school's mission and Minnesota educational standards. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Preferences A Master's degree in School Counseling or Licensed School Social Worker. Minnesota State Certification

in Elementary School Counseling or Licensed School Social Worker and relevant background clearances Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Qualifications The successful candidate must have earned a Master's degree, and current Minnesota State Licensure as a

School Counselor or Licensed School Social Worker . Additional demonstrated qualifications include: commitment to the equitable education of all students, creative planning and organizational skills, and highly effective interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with

elementary students

in a counseling capacity preferred. Prefer candidate with experience working with diverse learners.

Licensing Requirements Current Minnesota School Counselor or School Social Worker license is required.

Salary and Benefits The starting pay for this position is between

$48,001 - $78,088

and is based on

Education Minnesota - Cloquet contract.

Your initial placement is dependent on your qualifications (education and years of relevant experience).
