General Description The Long Term Sub - Elementary School Counselor will collaborate with staff and students to provide counseling services in an elementary school setting and teach classroom lessons for all grades. Candidates should have knowledge of the Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) process and be able to work with a variety of individuals in various settings. Rockford Elementary Arts Magnet School is a Kindness Certified School and kindness activities are facilitated and led by the School Counselor. The Elementary School Counselor supports the academic, emotional, and social development of students in grades K-4. This role includes running individual and group interventions, collaborating with teachers and families, and promoting a safe and inclusive school environment. The Elementary School Counselor will communicate with school staff and parents/guardians. This position also serves as liaison between students and federal, state, and local social and community support programs.
