Summary
Delta Star Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our team, supporting the daily testing and validation of medium and large power transformers in our high-voltage laboratory. What You'll Do
As a Test Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of power transformers-ranging up to 200 MVA and 230kV-including autotransformers, mobile substations with switchgear, and skid-mounted units. You'll oversee the planning and execution of Quality, Routine, Type, and Special tests, adhering to industry standards such as IEEE C57.1200 and C57.12.90. Your work will help uphold the safety, efficiency, and compliance of our products for customers across the industry.
A Day in the Life
Your day will include performing high-voltage electrical tests, verifying test data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in Manufacturing, Contracts, Controls, and Engineering. You'll help troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing, guide technicians, and ensure accurate documentation of all procedures. You'll also be involved in preventative and predictive maintenance of test equipment, helping to ensure a safe and organized test environment.
Specific Duties Conduct Quality, Routine, Type, and Special tests on power transformers and substations in compliance with IEEE standards. Lead daily coordination of test activities with technicians to meet production and delivery schedules. Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during in-process and final testing. Validate test results with Quality, Engineering, and customer representatives as required. Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the high-voltage lab and testing equipment. Provide training and support to Electrical Test Technicians and Associate Engineers. Ensure all test practices align with internal policies and customer specifications. What We're Looking For

Position Requirements
Electrical Test Engineer
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 3-5 years of experience testing power transformers or similar high-voltage equipment Familiarity with transformer testing procedures and industry standards (IEEE C57 series) Ability to lift tools and equipment and work at heights of approximately 30 ft+ as needed Sr. Electrical Test Engineer
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 8+ years of experience testing power transformers or similar high-voltage equipment Familiarity with transformer testing procedures and industry standards (IEEE C57 series) Ability to lift tools and equipment and work at heights of approximately 30 ft+ as needed Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and located within, or willing to relocate to, a reasonable commute to the assigned plant
Skills and Competencies
Solid understanding of electrical theory and testing methodologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in using computers and learning new software tools Ability to collaborate across departments and manage technical documentation Self-motivated, organized, and committed to continuous improvement
