Job Duties & Responsibilities:
As the
Picking and Staging Supervisor , you will be responsible for the crucial link between our warehouse and our production floor. You will lead a team of 10+ individuals to ensure the timely and accurate picking and staging of all materials required to meet our demanding manufacturing schedule. Your expertise in warehouse processes, combined with a sharp focus on technical and continuous improvement, will be essential for optimizing material flow and maintaining the integrity of our finished goods transfers. This role reports directly to the Nutraceutical Warehouse Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Picking & Staging Operations:
Lead and oversee the entire picking process, from the release of Work Orders (WOs) to the final staging of materials. Ensure all materials are accurately picked and delivered to production lines in accordance with the manufacturing schedule. WMS & ERP Expertise:
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for picking and staging processes within our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and related modules in our ERP system. Provide hands-on training for the team, troubleshoot system issues, and identify opportunities for process and system optimization. Manage Outbound Transfers:
Direct the material handling of finished goods, ensuring their accurate and timely transfer to our external warehouse or distribution center. Act as the primary liaison for outbound logistics partners, coordinating transfers and resolving any discrepancies. Production Support & Material Handling:
Coordinate the safe and efficient material handling of all staged materials to the production areas. Proactively communicate with the production team to ensure a smooth flow of materials and minimize downtime. Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10+ picking and staging associates. Conduct performance reviews, manage scheduling, and foster a safe, productive, and cohesive work environment. Continuous & Technical Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements to picking and staging processes, focusing on enhancing efficiency, safety, and inventory accuracy. Stay abreast of new technologies and best practices to optimize material flow. Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all picking, staging, and material handling operations are conducted in strict compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations and all company safety policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area on the production floor and in the staging zones. Reporting:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for picking and staging, including but not limited to, picking accuracy, on-time delivery to production, and transfer accuracy. Provide regular updates to the Warehouse Manager. Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Proven experience in a regulated industry; experience in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing sector is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is essential. Strong understanding of outbound logistics and transfer coordination. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for continuous improvement. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate a forklift or other material handling equipment.
