Position Summary : Perform intermediate and finish slitting operations which include setup, calculating, measuring, weighing, and recording activities to finish slit stock to specifications. Essential Job Duties: Set up cutters to slit materials to finish width based on order specifications Working from routing orders, forms, specification and verbal and written instructions from supervisor. Utilize various hand tools, finish slitter machines, micrometers, calculators, and related tools. Maintain necessary records and move materials. Follow established company and department rules and regulations and maintain quality standards. • Assist in maintaining equipment. • Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents
and near misses.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Able to lift 25+ pounds multiple times throughout shift. Previous slitting and precious metals experience is preferred. Able to stand, walk and reach throughout the shift. Ability to work effectively with limited supervision. Able to read, write and speak English. Good math skills. Must follow all safety rules and PPE requirements. High school diploma or GED; technical degree is a plus.
Working Conditions: • Standing for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day. • Frequent lifting of between 10 lbs. and 70 lbs. • Moderate to loud noise level. • Fast-paced environment: subject to priority changes and short-notice activity.
