Required: • Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client's site in
Juno Beach, FL
(required); • Experience with bulk electric system operations, preferably with an ISO, RTO, or utility control center (5+ years); • Experience with North American electricity markets and ancillary services; • Experience with ICCP protocol implementation and configuration; • Experience with NERC reliability standards and regional compliance requirements; • Experience with energy storage market participation rules across multiple ISO territories; • Experience with real-time dispatch, scheduling, and settlement processes; • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field
Preferred: • Experience with BESS or other energy storage technologies in grid applications; • Experience with power system control center operations or market operations; • Experience with SCADA systems and real-time data exchange protocols; • Experience with grid forming and grid following inverter technologies; • Professional Engineering (PE) license
Responsibilities: • Provide technical guidance on regulatory compliance for BESS plant controllers operating in ISO markets, including PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO, and ERCOT; • Review and validate control system designs for compliance with NERC and IEEE reliability standards and regional market rules; • Advise on ancillary services participation strategies for frequency regulation, spinning reserves, non-spinning reserves, voltage support, FFR, and PRF; • Support ICCP implementation and configuration for real-time market communication with ISOs and RTOs; • Collaborate with control system engineers on setpoint management, state of charge optimization, and market dispatch integration; • Interpret market signals and requirements for translation into PLC control logic and HMI displays; • Support performance validation testing to ensure market participation requirements are met
