The Center for Pelvic Health and Wellness at UCLA, a subspecialty urogynecology practice within the UCLA Department of Urology focused on the evidence-based care of chronic pelvic pain, is looking to fill the role of a Nurse Practitioner (NP). The NP is expected to provide exemplary patient care consistent with the UCLA Health CICARE Service Excellence. This individual will review medical histories, evaluate patients in clinic and via telemedicine and group visits, perform comprehensive physical examination, review laboratory and imaging results, formulate treatment plans, manage prescriptions, and provide patient education. The NP will manage clinical questions by telephone and Epic inbasket, perform procedures as needed, manage clinical issues that arise following procedures and surgeries, address prescription-related issues such as prior authorization, and carry out related tasks for the Center for Pelvic Health and Wellness at UCLA and the UCLA Department of Urology under the supervision of the attending urologists. The NP will consult with the attending physicians as appropriate. The individual will also be responsible for facilitating communication and feedback between patients, attending physicians, and referring physicians. The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals and documents services rendered. Salary range: $89.06-$127.19/hourly Qualifications
CA RN License-required State of CA NP, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, National Certification in NP Specialty-required MSN or DNP in NP Specialty-required NPI#, DEA#, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES-required BLS Certification from ARC or AHA-required Prior Urology experience -strongly preferred Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs-required Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-required Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required Ability to set priorities-required Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence-required Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required
