Family Meal Support Volunteer

At the House, the kitchen is at the heart of our mission. We provide Grab-n-Go food items, buffet style salad bar lunches, snacks, and dinner daily to our House guests. We also provide our Hospital-Based Programs with meals and snacks for families who visit those locations. The House kitchen runs like a restaurant would, and we need volunteers to help with cleaning, restocking, inventory, and of course, meal preparations and cooking. Required tasks Cleaning of dining and kitchen areas. (for example, putting food away and washing dishes) Restocking of dining room area (for example, snacks, boxed lunches, cereal, coffee, etc.). Organizing donations and purchased supplies into pantry, refrigerators, and freezers. Assembling orders for Hospital Based Programs. Taking inventory of food and supplies. Assisting supervisor of shift with meals preparation, when needed. Skills needed Cooperative with others. Responds well and follows instructions with care. Shows motivation to complete tasks. Shows a willingness to learn. Ability to lift 25 lbs. 2 shifts available: Mon., Thurs., Fri., Sat., and Sun.: 09:00 to 12:00 EST Sun.-Sat.: 16:00 to 19:00 EST
