Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 base salary
About the Role An industry-leading manufacturing technology company is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support cutting-edge industrial inkjet equipment in the corrugated printing market. This role is critical to delivering exceptional on-site technical support, ensuring equipment is operating at peak performance through installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operator training. The ideal candidate is an independent, hands-on engineer with experience in machine installation, technical support, and a strong mechanical/electrical aptitude. You'll be supporting a key site in Greensboro, NC , with additional travel as needed. Key Responsibilities ?
Technical Support
Perform end-to-end machine installations , from setup to final acceptance. Support production ramp-up and provide on-site operator training . Communicate service updates to technical support teams and management. Manage part inventory and handle returns efficiently. ?
Customer Experience
Act as a professional, technical liaison with customers on-site. Resolve service issues quickly and communicate proactively. Maintain a clean, orderly work environment during and after service visits. ?
Administration
Maintain accurate service logs and documentation . Submit daily timecards and track all service activities. Complete all required internal training (self-paced and in-person). Participate in technical skill development programs, including sessions at global HQ locations. ?
Travel & Expenses
Book travel efficiently and cost-effectively. Submit expense reports promptly (by the following Monday after travel). ?
Additional Duties
Other responsibilities as assigned by leadership. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required ; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred. 2+ years of experience in electrical/mechanical repair or break/fix roles . Experience with industrial inkjet technology or prepress systems a strong plus. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work around large equipment. Valid Driver's License and ability to travel by car and plane. Strong customer service mindset with calm, professional communication under pressure. Proficiency in email, Internet software, Microsoft Excel and Word . Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Comfortable navigating tight spaces and working on physically demanding tasks.
