Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Painter is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance painting duties within the manufacturing plant, including a full range of specialized painting projects. These include but are not limited to; painting large structures, perform inspections, cleanups, proper storage and disposal of paint products and operating various tools and equipment.
1st shift Monday - Friday
6:00am - 2:00pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bring parts to the workstation and wash / dry metal parts as required to prepare for painting.
Process products through the powder coating paint system, including cleaning, painting, and curing operations quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail and quality.
May regulate and operate baking or drying ovens, prepare surfaces for cleaning, filling, etc.
Paint completed cylinders by applicable work instructions and customer requirements.
Thin paints and mix properly to spray coatings. Adjust equipment to obtain the finish requirements and optimize paint economy.
Maintain and keep equipment and area in a safe, clean condition and working order.
Work assignments are subject to process checks and final inspection.
Control and prepare for disposal of toxic elements.
Assist with the development of more efficient manufacturing methods and procedures.
Place newly received soft goods, etc. into the proper storage location(s).
Obtain shop packet and review contents
Pull all software components for loading parts and seal kits.
Check print for proper installation of components.
Contact proper personnel when there are discrepancies between parts and prints.
Assemble / test cylinder products.
Check and maintain wash solutions at the various locations in the press area and assembly department.
Remove cylinders from the paint dry line, prepare the required shipping containers and pre-package for shipment.
MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Place completed assemblies into a clean, chip-free basket and properly identify
Report any shortages to the proper personnel
Follow all safety rules while performing job functions
Must be able to hang their own parts
Must be able to operate forklift
Must be able to order their own paint gun parts if needed

Order paint and supplies
Clean wash tanks filters and add chemicals when necessary
Change paint boot filters and light plastics
May need to hand wash parts as needed
Clean and grease chains and track on paint line
Willing to work overtime as needed
Knowledge of '5S' and lean manufacturing practices helpful
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school education or equivalent
Experience working in a manufacturing facility
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Painting experience is a plus, 2-5 years
Must be able to mix paints and catalyst
Must be able to pass and hold respirator qualifications
Must be clean shaven as to not interfere with respirator
Must have knowledge how to mask off product
Must know how to read and understand blueprints
Knowledge of how to repair guns and paint pots
Must know how to measure Mil thickness
Must have an eye for detail
Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
