POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with providing safe transportation for special needs students to and from designated locations Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Acceptable driving record Satisfactory criminal history check Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must successfully complete a 20-hour special needs training course Language Skills:

Ability to read two and three-syllable words Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers Ability to print and speak simple sentences Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students Ability to read and understand maps Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all district requirements and the School Board policies ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Driver and students in the operation of lifts for wheelchairs and assisting disabled students Maintain good student conduct on the bus Secure special equipment that may accompany the student Be alert to any conditions presenting a danger to students Communicate appropriately with students, parents, and employees SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
