Talent Space, Inc. is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer
You will tke a lead role in designing, automating, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This position is essential to ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency. This role demands deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, cloud architecture, and system reliability. As a Senior Engineer, you'll work closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to drive innovation, improve platform reliability, and streamline software delivery processes. You'll also help define and promote DevOps best practices, mentor team members, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our cloud strategy. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing cloud environments, automating infrastructure provisioning, streamlining deployment workflows, and improving system performance. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment that values ownership, accountability, and creative problem-solving.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities 1. Advanced Terraform Expertise (HCL) Deep knowledge of Terraform syntax and features, including complex expressions, functions, for each loops, and dynamic blocks. Skilled in writing clean, modular code with well-defined input variables and structured outputs. 2. Strong Background in Terraform Module Architecture
Proven experience building reusable, composable, and versioned Terraform modules. Ability to design intuitive and flexible module interfaces that support multiple use cases while maintaining simplicity. 3. Deep Understanding of AWS Services and Best Practices
More than just console-to-code translation - you understand the "why " behind AWS resources like IAM policies, S3 bucket configurations, ECS definitions, etc. Applies security and operational best practices as defaults (e.g., encryption, least-privilege access, logging). 4. Software Engineering Principles Applied to Infrastructure as Code
Strong Git practices for module versioning and release management, including semantic versioning and tagging. Committed to maintaining high-quality documentation for each module (including clear README.md files with usage examples). 5. Security-First and Automation-Driven Mindset
Experience integrating automated validation tools (e.g., terraform validate, tfsec, checkov) into the module development workflow. Proactively identifies and mitigates security risks within infrastructure code - security is built-in, not bolted on. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - or equivalent hands-on experience. 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment pipeline development. Expert-level proficiency in Terraform, including mastery of HCL syntax, complex constructs and scalable module architecture. Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining reusable Terraform modules in production environments. Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure and security best practices, extending beyond basic provisioning. Strong software engineering mindset applied to IaC: version control (Git), semantic versioning, clear documentation, and automated testing/validation. Experience integrating security scanning and validation tools into CI/CD pipelines. Proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a strong focus on security and operational risk mitigation. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, security, and operations teams.
