as a Senior Distribution Engineer in our Program Management department. The Senior Distribution Engineer is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes of electric utility distribution projects, ensuring that engineering designs adhere to client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves performing in-depth design reviews, identifying, and addressing discrepancies, and collaborating closely with design teams, construction personnel, and client representatives to maintain high-quality deliverables across overhead and underground distribution systems (typically up to 15kV).

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive QA/QC reviews of utility distribution design packages (Overhead and Underground) to ensure compliance with client specifications, industry codes (NESC, NEC), and engineering standards. Validate design accuracy, completeness, and constructability, including reviewing design checklists, redlines, field data, and structural calculations. Identify design inconsistencies, omissions, and potential constructability issues; provide clear corrective feedback to design teams. Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, drafters, and field personnel to resolve design discrepancies and ensure timely corrections. Develop and maintain QA/QC procedures, workflows, and best practices to improve design quality and reduce rework. Track QA/QC metrics and maintain documentation of review findings, trends, and corrective actions. Assist in training and mentoring junior engineers and designers on quality standards and client requirements. Support pre-construction coordination by addressing QA/QC concerns that may impact field execution. Provide technical recommendations to management for continuous improvement of QA/QC processes and standards. Ensure adherence to project schedules by maintaining efficient QA/QC turnaround times without compromising quality. Participate in client meetings, audits, and internal reviews related to quality control and engineering standards compliance. Assist in the implementation of digital QA/QC tools and systems to streamline review workflows and reporting. Qualifications

Engineering Degree and 2-3 years of experience in Electric Utility Distribution projects or 7 years of experience in Electric Utility Distribution projects. 2-3 years of QA/QC experience. Knowledge of NESC and other applicable codes and standards. Strong computer and communication skills. Willingness to learn and operate client-provided programs, systems, and software. Proven history of successfully attaining results in a production environment. Ability to travel up to 5 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings.

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
