What to expect:
The Psychiatrist on Sheppard Pratt’s Adult Inpatient Service Line provides expert psychiatric care for adults with complex and acute psychiatric conditions. This role involves performing comprehensive diagnostic assessments, admission evaluations, and risk assessments; prescribing and managing psychotropic medications; and developing individualized treatment plans. The Psychiatrist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to monitor patient progress, adjust treatment interventions, and ensure continuity of care.
In addition to direct patient care, the Psychiatrist participates in quality improvement initiatives, supports clinical education, and promotes a culture of patient-centered, evidence-based care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills to coordinate care for adults in acute inpatient settings.
Specific Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and admission physicals. Prescribe and manage medications and provide individual or group therapies. Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment strategies as needed. Ensure continuity of care and safe transitions to home or less restrictive settings. Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to promote seamless care delivery. What we need from you:
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry. Active Maryland medical license with Controlled Substances Registration and valid DEA Certificate. Completion of a residency training program. Two years of experience preferred, including acute psychiatric care. Experience working with patients in acute behavioral health settings.
The base pay range for this position is $240,000 minimum to $285,000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience.
