Description

Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide organization, sanitation, and general maintenance in the assigned functional areas. Employees in this classification perform general and preventative maintenance and repair work. Position is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of supplies and facilities in the assigned areas. Performs related work as directed. *This is a part-time position with a maximum of 28 hours weekly. Hours will vary based on department needs.

Current Hours: Mon - Thurs 2:30PM to 6PM, Sat & Sun 7:00AM to 2:30PM Examples of Duties

In the event a change is necessary to update the essential functions of the job, the City will provide as much notice as practicable to the employee.

Maintains a safe and clean working environment and provides for the general upkeep for the assigned areas; utilizes various cleaning agents, mixing such according to label instructions and product specifications, and using in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directions. Maintains City buildings, parks, and recreational facilities. Maintains and repairs public right-of-ways, green spaces, City parks, and recreational facilities. Performs routine grounds maintenance tasks; e.g., lawn mowing, tree and hedge trimming, edging, laying sod. Utilizes fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides to maintain green space, right-of-ways, and parks and recreational areas. Installs and repairs various fencing; e.g., wooden fencing, chain link fencing; repairs and replaces boardwalks and other wooden structures. Assists with minor repairs and installation projects of street, sewer, storm, water, irrigation and signage; assists with minor building maintenance and repairs. Installs and repairs various plumbing fixtures and piping; e.g., sinks, showers, toilets, PVC pipes, drinking fountains. Installs and performs minor repairs electrical equipment; e.g., timers, light fixtures, outlets, switches, fuses, fans, hand dryers, electric gates, garage doors, air conditioners. Performs related work as directed.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Any combination of training and experience which would provide required knowledge, skills, and abilities are qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

High school diploma or GED preferred; supplemented by demonstrated ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the work; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Supplemental Information

CITY OF WILTON MANORS - PART-TIME EMPLOYEES SCHEDULE OF BENEFITS Vacation • Part-time employees will earn vacation leave based on the number of hours worked. • At resignation/retirement/termination part-time employees will be paid for vacation hours earned after returning all City property.

Sick Leave • Part-time employees will earn sick leave based on the number of hours worked. • At resignation/retirement/termination: - after 10 years employment, 25% of total hours up to 480 hours

Holidays 5 hours of paid holiday for the day after Thanksgiving

COLA or Wage Adjustment Commission-approved at budget

Pension • The City of Wilton Manors is a member of the Florida Retirement System (FRS) for all new hires.

Salary Merit increases of 1% to 3% annually based on performance evaluation (increase is subject to percentages set by Commission during the annual budget ).

Fitness Center Use of City's fitness center after completing all required documentation.
