Description:
The Biomedical Technician is responsible for supervising, repairing, calibrating and maintaining all types of basic clinical equipment technologies, devices, instruments, and systems. Inspect, install, and provide preventive maintenance of general clinical equipment. Typical Duties: Repairs, installs, maintain, calibrates, and inspects a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation and equipment. Performs preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems. Diagnoses and corrects system and equipment malfunctions. Maintains documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures. Schedules and oversee third-party repair as necessary. Provides technical assistance and instruction on equipment operation and maintenance to employee. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology from an accredited university, equivalent military training or equivalent work experience. 3 plus months of experience in medical equipment repair and maintenance.
Preferred Education and Experience:
2 plus years of experience in medical equipment repair and maintenance.
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
Certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) through the International Certification Commission or the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). OEM Medical Device training and education with certificates.
