Job DescriptionJob DescriptionØ Lead engineering deliverables for single or multiple projects while interfacing with clients and engineers.Ø Provide technical support to the business development group and assist with proposal preparation.Ø Break down project requirements, client specifications, and contract details into clear tasks and when required manage a team of individuals who execute this work to ensure it meets the client expectations and deadlines.Ø In charge of timely submittal of administrative aspects of the project including budget tracking, schedule updates, completion forecasts and value tracking.Ø Perform engineering studies, generate engineering design packages, specify process equipment, review, and analyze vendor data.Ø Provide technical support for detailed engineering, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and plant operations. Onsite support will result in some amount of travel and extended stay at project sites (10% travel).Ø Model process simulations in AspenPlus/HYSYS or similar software and develop specialized modeling tools specific to the technology system.Ø Implement process design, equipment sizing and selection, generate equipment and instrument data sheets, develop PFDs and P&IDs, perform hydraulic analysis, control valve sizing, line list , flare and relief valve calculations and others.Ø Lead and participate in various client reviews such as process hazard analysis, operability and constructability reviews.Ø Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.Ø Ensure proper quality checks through conducting and following peer and squad check procedures and verifying proper documentation of input data.Ø Utilize and further the design methodologies for the technology system and develop and maintain design procedures and tools.Ø Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS v A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with 15-25 years of related experience.v Fluidized bed, syngas system and gasification experience a plus.v Fluent in chemical manufacturing facilities process design.v Highly experienced with process simulation using AspenTech programs such as Aspen Plus and HYSYS, and other process simulators.v Experienced with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar software for drafting and editing P&IDs .v Other relevant formal training including HAZOP, HAZID, Project Management is a plus.v Strong background working in EPC and systems engineering is a plus.v Experience with plant operation and process controls, ideally including startup and commissioning is a plus.v Familiarity with fluidized beds, solids handling systems, biomass conversion, steam methane reforming, oxycombustion, carbon capture, fuels/methanation synthesis and reactions.v Knowledge of new and novel chemical processes is a plus.v Some experience with thermal integration of varied process technologies.v Well-versed in engineering workflows and project delivery from both client and vendor perspectives.v Well-established process engineering skills including system design, of heat and material balances, PFDs, and PIDs, process design criteria, equipment sizing, process modeling, plant integration, and technical design and oversight.v Working knowledge of Hazard Analysis methodologies, safety systems and SIL level application.v Skilled to work with cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.v Ability to exercise sound judgement in prioritizing tasks and solving problems, chasing issues through resolution.v Outgoing and energized by bringing the best out of everyone on the team.v Excellent oral and written communication skills.v Client facing/interaction experience.
