Position Summary:
The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for the delivery of the process designs, process assurance on commissioning and start-up, and performance test verification of the CWLNG LNG ISBL / OSBL facilities.
These facilities include gas Inlet Facilities, MRU, AGRU, dehydration, NGL Extraction, natural gas liquefaction, Condensate recovery, storage and loading, Refrigerant storage, Power generation, Relief System, and Utilities – Heating Medium (hot oil), Fuel Systems, Water, Air, and Nitrogen. Key Accountabilities: Delivers process engineering deliverables considering process safety in design, adopting best practices and supporting the Process Engineering manager. Works with Operations and Marine teams to ensure facility design meets operability requirements. Works closely with Contractor’s Engineering team, and Company’s Engineering and Operations team. Works closely with Regulatory to ensure all PHMSA and other regulatory requirements are met from Process Safety and HSE. Works with other company departments as required to support Project delivery. Embraces the safety culture and ensures deliverables are being implemented and aligned with HSSE.
Champion for HSE emphasizing safety throughout all process design activities. Complies with directives, plans, procedures, guidelines, legal requirements, and other adopted Company commitments with regards to FERC, PHMSA, DOT, USCG, OSHA, LDEQ and all regulatory agencies. Promotes compliance with HSE standards and guidelines at work, including any work engaging contractors, suppliers, and customers. Attends safety studies/workshops (i.e. HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA) as required for entire length of workshops in person. Provides value-added engineering and optimization of design where possible to minimize CAPEX. Supports cost effective strategies and provides regular updates to Process Engineering Manager. Works on completing detail design and execution of process design aspects in accordance with Industry standards and guidelines, procedures, Quality Program, project plans and contractual obligations. Reviews and verifies Contractor’s engineering deliverables, including process philosophies, PFDs/UFDs, H&MBs, P&IDs, and completion of HAZOP including closeout actions. Works with, and acts as coordinator between Contractor design team and Operations to support operating philosophy, startup procedure, SIMOPS philosophy etc. Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the position successfully. Education, Certificates, and Licenses: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering is required. Advanced degree preferred. Experience: 15 plus years of prior or relevant work experience as a Process Engineer, including an LNG operating facility. Solid experience and knowledge in LNG and gas treatment LNG Operations engineering support Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience working in the commissioning, start-up, and early operations at an LNG facility.
Prefer prior experience with performance testing of LNG facilities including interpretation of Contractual terms and translation into Operating Procedures. Experience in the liaising and working both within multi-disciplinary design and operational facility environment. Experience with LNG project process design requirements and work processes through EPC, commissioning, and start-up. Experience with LSTK projects. Experience working with gas treating technology licensors. Proven record of accomplishment holding similar position within other operational LNG facilities and/or LNG projects. Proactive and problem-solving attitude, analytic, flexible, team player. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time effective manner. Knowledge of and ability to use HYSYS/UNISIM. Familiarity with Oil and Gas industry best in class specifications and practices. Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve issues and develop viable solutions. Flexibility to work temporarily overseas during engineering and fabrication of the modules Experience in LNG plant debottlenecking and capacity increase Experience in utilizing Advanced Process Control
