Role Purpose

Under the supervision of a Process Engineer, the accepted candidate will work on projects to support process improvements applied to the Environmental Technologies processes. These projects may include evaluating the impacts of process variables on end product attributes, identifying incoming product attributes that impact the firing process yield, and projects geared at increasing manufacturing throughput through firing process innovation.

Requirements:

Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate Level Engineering program; preference for Material Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

To be considered for an internship at Corning Incorporated, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a Bachelor's Degree or higher.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis

Working knowledge or experience with design of experiments (DOE) concepts

Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later

Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Be willing to work at the posted job location

Desired Skills:

Have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Understanding or experience with thermodynamic principles

Basic understanding of ceramic sintering process

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills

Collaboration in a multicultural environment

Willingness to work with your hands

Experience with Six Sigma DMAIC or similar principles

Communication/Team/Leadership

Open and engaging to effectively collaborate with others

?The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
