Metallurgist - Bowling Green, KY
Forge Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, for an immediate opportunity at their
Bowling Green, Kentucky Stamping Facility .
The
Metallurgist
will be responsible for managing metallurgical operations and heat treatment processes, while providing technical and metallurgical support across departments. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on metallurgy experience, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be motivated to support continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Ensure customer requirements are met and testing is performed efficiently and accurately Manage mechanical testing processes to meet internal and external standards Provide metallurgical and technical support to both internal teams and external customers Deliver training and guidance to team members Ensure all laboratory functions comply with established procedures Monitor mechanical testing and NCT operations for compliance with customer and internal requirements Oversee heat treatment operations, including internal and subcontracted processes, ensuring adherence to standards Investigate and resolve metallurgical complaints, report findings, and initiate corrective actions Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or a related field Familiarity with heat treat operations and safe equipment practices Strong knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and manufacturing/quality procedures Equivalent work experience in heat treating and welding will also be considered Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment 5+ years of experience with heat treatment processes 2-4 years of experience in automotive manufacturing Knowledge of hot stamp processes, machining, induction hardening, or related manufacturing methods
