Job Description

Job Title: Campus Safety Manager

Salary Schedule: See classified salary schedule

Reports To: Safe Schools Director

Salary Grade: 108

Work Location: Lincoln Center

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-time/ 12 months

Position Summary

To assist in the supervisory and management capacity of our Campus Safety Monitors and Crossing Guards in providing security and safety on the school campus for students, staff, and property.

Essential Duties

Develops positive relations with district staff, students, school staff, and the public. Fill in for Campus Safety Monitors as needed and assist schools without Campus Safety Monitors when assistance for safety is needed. Understands and ensures compliance with school rules, Board policies, and general provisions of school safety plans. Patrol district site buildings and school grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. Calls police for assistance when authorized, in accordance with written school safety procedures and emergency action plans. Sounds fire signals to alert the fire department and school personnel in the event of a fire and assists in extinguishing fires. Assists in scheduled drills and required reports. Reports any unusual conditions or malfunctioning of heating, plumbing, or electrical system.; such as near fire hydrants or in driveways, and check exterior lighting and emergency access routes. Check parking lots for the cars of visitors and students. Ensure parking tags are displayed, and cars are parked in designated areas. Conduct traffic and crossing guard duties on the campus when needed Makes written reports of security violations. Adheres to strict confidentiality of student and staff information. Any additional duties the Safe Schools Director assigns about school safety and security. Must be available to work modified hours, including nights or weekends, when deemed necessary by the Director of Safe Schools

Education/Experience Requirements

1. A minimum of 3-5 years of highly successful related experience and education

2. Experience with technology systems utilized for school safety processes (i.e., camera or entry screening systems).

3. Proficient with teamwork and collaborating with colleagues and administration

4. Knowledge of basic methods of providing site security and safety in schools

5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

6. Must be in physical status that allows for extended walking, movement, and on your feet for extended hours.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs Must be able to walk and stand for extended period of time throughout the day
