Position Description

Performs entry-level communication support work. Work involves strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Suite (especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Strong attention to detail in formatting and layout. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.

Essential Duties:

• Creates PowerPoint presentations using best practices for training and visual accessibility.

• Assists in drafting training scripts based on presentation content and supporting materials.

• Maintains consistency in style and layout across presentation materials.

• Supports version control and document organization processes.

• Assists in compiling and formatting recurring reports using Excel and Word.

• Contributes to the preparation and coordination of events, meetings, or training sessions as needed.

• Collaborates with Communication Division to schedule quarterly rail safety social media posts.

• Performs preliminary research on assignments and gathers pertinent data.

• Maintains files, records, and logs.

• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education : Must be a student in high school or other educational institution or accepted into a college, university or educational institution.

Other Conditions :

Must be at least 16 years of age, a student currently enrolled in high school or any institution of higher education to include

a trade/vocational school. Employees at least 18 years of age with valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties and may

use power tools. Preferred Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Skilled in creating clear, visually engaging PowerPoint presentations. Ability to draft, edit, and format technical documents, training scripts, and procedures. Strong attention to detail in formatting, grammar, and layout. Familiarity with SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive for collaborative work. Experience contributing to business or organizational social media pages. Experience creating visual content. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs Sitting - prolonged periods of time Standing-prolonged periods of time Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
