Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a

Civil Engineer with 6+ years of aviation-related experience

to join our Aviation team. This position is ideally based in

Seattle, WA

, though we are also open to qualified applicants in

Salt Lake City, UT

, or nearby regions.

The successful candidate will support a wide range of

airside and landside design projects

at commercial service and general aviation airports. You’ll be working on projects ranging from

runway and taxiway design to grading, drainage, utility coordination, and construction administration

in a collaborative environment focused on technical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead or support design tasks related to

airfield infrastructure

: runways, taxiways, aprons, pavement, grading, and stormwater systems.

Prepare and review

technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates

, and bid documents in compliance with FAA, state, and local standards.

Participate in the

coordination of multidisciplinary teams

, including subconsultants and internal design groups (structural, electrical, geotechnical).

Provide support during

construction phases

, including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses.

Interface with

clients, stakeholders, and permitting agencies

to support project delivery.

Contribute to

project management activities

, including scope, schedule, and budget tracking under the direction of senior staff.

Assist in

mentoring junior engineers

and supporting their technical development.

Qualifications: Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

6+ years of progressive civil engineering experience

, preferably with a focus on aviation or transportation infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Engineer (PE) license

or ability to obtain within 6-12 months.

Previous experience working on

airport projects

(Part 139 airports, FAA-funded projects).

Familiarity with

construction administration and QA/QC procedures .

Strong working knowledge of

FAA design criteria

and engineering standards.

Proficiency in

AutoCAD Civil 3D

, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard design tools.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to travel periodically for client meetings and site visits.

Compensation: $120,000-$120,000 per year
