Supervisory It Specialist (Infosec)

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the NC3-N WORKCENTER, CYBER FORENSIC DIVISION at NAVY CYBER DEFENSE OPERATIONS COMMAND. This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. Responsibilities: You will be responsible for exercising technical and administrative supervisory authority over Division personnel. You will develop resource estimates and schedules for detailed task assignments. You will oversee the mission process improvement and technical performance of personnel, software applications, tools, and policy. You will ensure the proper training, qualification and oversight of Attack, Sensing and Warning (ASW) analyst to include review and quality control of performance and analysis products. You will serve as the Network Monitoring subject matter expert for identifying systemic and application-specific security threats to tactical and administrative systems and recommending the development of defensive countermeasures. You will lead the efforts to understand and determine cyber exploit tactics, techniques and procedures for implementing the appropriate countermeasure. You will work with network engineers to approve automated analysis requirements and direct the development of new approaches and formulation of ASW processes for the Navy and influence Joint policy for the Department of Defense (DoD). Requirements: Conditions of Employment: Qualifications: Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as: Experience creating detailed analysis of incident data. Experience drafting and reviewing policy, procedures, or instructions for accuracy and compliance with directives and law. Experience conducting systems security evaluations, audits, inspections and reviews. Experience identifying and recommending countermeasures to cybersecurity threats. This position is within the Work Category Supervision/Management at Work Level Full Performance, Series and Grade GG-2210-13.
