has an outstanding opportunity for a

Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Fixed duration- expected duration of position is 6 months

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Located on the 7th Floor of the Norm Maleng Building, the Kidney Clinic at Harborview Medical Center specializes in difficult-to-control hypertension, medical kidney disease of all types, kidney stone diseases and acid-based and fluid balance disorders.

We help adult patients with kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. We also treat kidney transplant patients including adjusting their transplant medications.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records

Perform injections

Prepare and clean exam rooms

Submit medication prior authorizations

Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider

Act as a liaison between patient, patient's family and providers

Assist provider with procedures and medical exams

Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values

Assist in transporting patients as required

REQUIREMENTS

Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation boardOR equivalent

Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment

Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$57,648.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$82,476.00 annual
