Purpose/Job Function:
To assist in the production of high quality stainless steel parts that exceed customer service expectations, quality expectations and arrive on schedule.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
Ability to improve internal and external surfaces of tubular components such as fittings and valves using grinding, polishing and buffing techniques
Ability to smooth out welds to prepare surface for electropolishing
Experience using tools such as hand held die grinders, abrasives, grinding belts and polishing wheels
Experience working from blueprints /drawings to identify the specifications a part must meet
Ability to set up, run and maintain equipment
Ability to initiate and perform in process inspection to verify work
Work with team to meet all customer expectations
Ability to prioritize and work under pressure of tight delivery schedules
Identify and recommend process improvements to management
Ability and willingness to learn to assist in other production departments when needed
Comply with company Safety Program
Experience with saws, mills, lathes, TIG welding and electropolishing a plus
Other tasks as needed
Skills:
Experience working with 316L stainless steel a plus
Attention to detail
Knowledge and understanding of ASME/BPE specifications a big plus
Strong problem solver
Excellent time management skills
Strong focus on customer service, quality and details
Experience:
1+ year of relevant experience or certificate from technical school a plus
Work Environment:
Must be able to stand and sit at equipment for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. in a job shop environment.
