Under general supervision, perform a variety of semi-skilled work in the routine service and maintenance of automotive and related equipment, and perform related work as required.
Examples Of Essential Duties
Washes and cleans automobiles, buses, trucks, and light and heavy duty automatic equipment in accordance with prescribed schedules and processes; services vehicles and other automotive equipment with gasoline and oil; checks tires; installs and services batteries; replaces light bulbs; maintains records of services; performs related work as assigned.
Typical Qualifications Candidates must possess a valid California State Class C driver's license at the time of application (Class A or Class B also accepted). The person appointed must possess a Class B driver's license or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The work
environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors. Training and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be: Work Background: Some experience in work relating to the servicing of automotive equipment.

Knowledge of:
Servicing and cleaning methods of light and heavy-duty equipment, buses, automobiles, and trucks. Tools, materials, and equipment used in diesel, gasoline, and CNG-operated equipment maintenance, including bolts and nuts. Wrench sizes and their proper use. Safe work practices. Ability to:
Perform general maintenance, service, and cleaning of battery, gasoline, and diesel engines Skillfully use a variety of hand tools in equipment maintenance and cleaning. Assist others with routine vehicle maintenance. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles - interior and exterior. Driving, maneuvering, and parking vehicles. Fueling buses, replenishing fluids, and logging and recording all fluids Perform light maintenance to shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities. Report maintenance issues to the Supervisor. Other duties as required.
